Legislative Districts Set for Remapping

In the CommunityBy the time voters go to the election booth in the spring, you may be voting for an entirely new slate of candidates due to the remapping that is required by law. The remapping ensures your representatives are evenly balanced according to the most recent 2000 census. In order to balance legislative representative with the population, the Senator or Representative that represented you previously may be assigned to a different district and geographic area. Your votes in March will count more than ever. In order to increase your chances as an effective voice in your government, you need to register to vote. Then, pay attention to the candidates in your area by attending candidate forums and asking questions. It is important you vote in the March primary, voting for the candidates that most accurately reflect your needs.
