New Homeowner Association Makes a Difference

Sister communities Country Club Park, Countryside, and Weeping Willow, Hodgkins, formed a joint Homeowners Association and to work with their landlord, the Camboni family. As an association, residents were able to work together to improve their communities. The landlord is beginning to make progress on issues such as tree trimming and has stopped telling residents to make unneeded costly cosmetic improvements on their homes.

The Association is now working with their landlord and their elected officials. While not all concerns have been corrected, the residents are continuing to meet with and work with their landlord toward improving their community. They are also working with both city councils to vote in new local ordinances dealing with homeowner issues.

The Association recently worked with the City of Hodgkins, which invited residents from Parkview and Valley Oakes located in Hodgkins, to attend a meeting with local elected officials to air their concerns also. Residents in the homeowners association can already see the benefits of an association along with membership in MHOAI. Their membership allows them to learn about existing and proposed legislation that affects them.
