Paper Trail

We can not stress enough your need to keep copies of bills, letters and notices that you receive from your landlords.  Yet many homeowners are not doing this.  This includes leases, water bills, a violation notice you received, and any letter you write your manager/landlord.  This paper trail is your insurance in case a problem arises in the future.  If a manger has made verbal promises then does not follow through, you need to write a dated letter showing you contacted him/her.
