Legislative Alert: SB 1200

This is a bill MHOAI has submitted to allow fines for landlords in violation of state codes. As of now there are no fines in place to help the Illinois Department of Public Health beyond letters of violations. With more and more out of state development companies buying Illinois communities, the Department needs a way to motivate development companies/landlords to keep their communities up to state codes. If there are no violations, the landlord would not have to worry.
