Please make sure we have a copy of your lease, rules and regulations. Also, be sure to keep any letters, violation notices, and anything else you receive from your landlord.
These documents will form a paper trail in the event there is a problem with your landlord. You need to keep these papers to protect yourself.
MHOAI needs a paper trail to show that many of our problems are state-wide and not in just one community. Our opponents in Springfield tell your legislators that if there is a problem, it is only in one community or one area of the state, and that MHOAI exaggerates your concerns. With your documentation, we can prove your concerns are shared by many, many residents state-wide.
Also, if you still have not recieved your green book “Living in a Manufactured Home Community” from your landlord, contact the Illinois Department of Public Health at 1-217-782-5830 or a MHOAI director.
