The first organized Manufactured Home Owners Day (MHO Day) counted 300 Homeowners across the State petitioning legislators in Springfield, carrying signs with Slogans “Come Walk with Us and Stand Beside Us”.

- HB 681 was signed into law. This provided that the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) establish the Manufactured Home Quality Assurance Board appointing homeowners, landlords and IDPH representatives. MHOAI representatives are placed on the Board.
- Two County Tax pieces of state legislation to raise County Taxes 400 % in the manufactured housing market is defeated.
- Federal legislation is passed putting in place the HUD Manufactured Housing Consensus Committee (MHCC) to upgrade existing construction and safety standards. The [21] member committee is made up of consumer, industry and interest party representatives. MHOAI had a consumer representative placed on this committee.
