HB 6241 Goes to Committee
Finally, after all the meetings with taxing bodies and other interested parties this tax bill involves we have come to an agreement. This is the tax bill formerly known as SB 78 Senator Clayborne has brought forth the last 8 or so years that we oppose every year.
It is almost 50 pages long, however I suggest you will get the drift in the first 6 pages when you have time to read it. There are at least 10 times that the law states it cannot come in manufactured home communities and why. (Notice the word manufactured as opposed to mobile is used). A safe guard is that if your home is located on your own land you must surrender your title for a deed. Those already on their own land will be grandfathered in.
The house hearing is this Thursday in the Revenue and Finance Committee and I will be there.
Pages 29-53 deal with taxing bodies and definitions.
