Illinois lawmakers were officially sworn in Wednesday as members of the 101st General Assembly – adding many new faces.
Joining these members on January 14th will be governor elect J.B.Pritzker.
Democrats become the Super Majority with Democrats holding a 40-19 edge in the Senate and a 74-44 majority in the House.
The faces of both chambers remain the same. Michael Madigan was re-elected House speaker; Jim Durkin, Western Springs returns as Republican leader. John Cullerton in the Senate will serve another term as president; and Bill Brady, Bloomington returns as Republican leader.
